Biography |
Dr. Moutaz Alazab is a computer security expert with industry, academic, teaching and research experience. He completed his PhD degree in cybersecurity from Deakin university, Australia in 2014. During his PhD, he was an active scholar in the Securing Cyberspace Laboratory and Network and System Security Laboratory (NSCLab). He received B.Eng. Degree in Computer Engineering from Faculty of Engineering, Al-Balqa Applied University, Jordan in 2009. Dr. Alazab has proved the ability in delivering a high-quality content for several courses for both level (undergraduate students and postgraduate students). He has lectured, coordinated, tutored and moderated in several well-known universities including in CCQ, Deakin, RMIT, CQU and MIT. In each semester, his evaluation was one of the highest and regarded “one of the most favourite lecturer”. Dr. Alazab has worked closely in collaboration with industry on several research projects, including BAE Systems, Microsoft and Ericsson, which provided him a valuable insight into the applicability of knowledge of real-world law enforcement, business and industry, and end‐user impediments in cybercrime and network incidence. He is recipient of number of research grants including research Incentive Fund (RIF), Zayed University. His research interests include Cybersecurity, and Cyber Terrorism, Mobile Security, Network Security, Machine Learning, Digital Forensics, Internet of Things (IOT) and BIG data analytics. He has published more than 20 peer-reviewed articles in well-known, high-quality international journals and conferences. These articles which include most recent publication, ‘Crime in Cyberspace’—have been widely cited. He is regularly invited to give keynote and talks at different well-known international conferences, research institutes and universities around the world.
