Biography
Dr. Shakib is a certified System Engineer and Architect from MIT and holds a Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering degree with minor in Mathematics from NYU Tandon School of Engineering, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree.
Prof. Shakib has conducted postgraduate research in Trade-off between stability margin and performance in MIMO control systems and has authored numerous 19 peer-reviewed published papers in the areas of Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking Control Systems, Wireless Communication, Digital Signal Processing, and engineering ethics.
Prof. Shakib has served as an adjunct faculty member, Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor in academia and as Senior Engineer in the industry. He has taught Managerial Statistics, Data Analysis & Business Intelligence, Descriptive Statistical Inference for Business, e-Business Technologies, IT Project Management, Managing Information Systems at graduate level more than 40 undergraduate courses in Computer Science and Information Systems (including capstone), Healthcare Statistics and Research, Signal Processing, Data Communication and Networks, Control Systems and Advanced calculus. He is known as a persuasive engineer with leadership, integrity, accountability, courage, and loyalty with a strong focus on key business drivers.
Prof. Shakib has trained more than 250 future technician, technologists, and engineers enrolled in AA, BS, and MS programs. He has also directed projects involving embedded programming, automation and controls systems involving building autonomous robotic car; modeling a nonlinear optical system and developing the control algorithms for MEMS, a real time control systems and control theory that led to patent it as distributive optical switching control system. He has expert level knowledge of popular microcontrollers and DSPs, high level simulation and modelling software programs including Matlab, Simulink, Simscape, LabView, MultiSim, minitab, R as well as many programming languages and Object-Oriented Design tools.
