Biography
Dr. Charfeddine Lanouar is an associate Professor of Economics at the College of Business and Economic of Qatar University. He holds two research master degrees one in international relations and one in Finance and Econometrics in 2004 from University Paris II – Pantheon – Assas, France. He holds also a Ph.D in Economics (applied Econometrics) in 2007 from University Paris II – Pantheon – Assas, France. Before joining Qatar University Dr. Charfeddine Lanouar has had several teaching positions in many Universities around the world including Marne-La-Vallee, Paris II – Pantheon – Assas, Nanterre Paris X, Paris I Sorbonne Universities in France; SKEMA and CERAM business schools in France, Gabes Higher Institute of Management and Gabes School of Engineering at Gabes University in Tunisia and the college of Administrative sciences at Najran University in Saudi Arabia. His research interest include nonlinear econometric models (Switching and long memory processes), financial modelling and forecasting, energy economics, and international macroeconomics, international finance. He has published more than 50 articles in these topics in internationally respected peer-reviewed journals with high impact factor such as the journals Tourism management, Energy Economics, Energy, Energy Policy, Economic Modelling, Emerging Market Review, Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, Renewable Energy, Cleaner Energy Production, and renewable and sustainable energy review among many others. He has awarded several internal and external grants as LPI and PI. For instance, he is a PI in NPRP-Cluster project of an amount of $3,126,209, he is also the LPI of grants from the Qatar Financial Center (QFC) and UREP grants. Some of these research papers was awarded best papers in international conferences and are the most downloaded and cited papers since their publications. Regarding professional services, Dr. Charfeddine is actually serving as editor in the Cogent Economic and Finance, and the Review of European Studies. He is also awarded certificates for as an outstanding reviewer in some well ranked journals. Moreover, he has provided several trainings to some local Qatar research centres in the field of macroeconomic modelling and forecasting.
