Mounib Khanafer is an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Department of Engineering at the American University of Kuwait (AUK), Kuwait. He conducts research in the general areas of Wireless Sensor Networks and Internet of Things and their applications in vehicular networks and wireless body area networks. He is the author of more than 20 publications in these areas and the joint recipient of two Best Poster Awards. He has three years of industrial experience at Nortel Networks, Ottawa, Canada and worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at the University of Ottawa (2012-2013). He received his B.Sc degree (with honors) in Electrical Engineering from Kuwait University, Kuwait, in 2002, and his M.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada in 2007 and 2012, respectively. He is the recipient of two University of Ottawa Admission Scholarships (Masters-2003 and PhD-2008) and the University of Ottawa Deans Scholarship for completing the PhD in a timely fashion (2012). Dr. Khanafer is a Senior Member of IEEE.
