I’m the Engineering lead for MXNet Deep Learning Organization where I lead a team of 30+ software engineers and scientists specialized in building deep learning tools, frameworks, and systems to simplify training and deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) models on applications and services. I’ve been with Amazon for 2.5 years. I started in 2017 with AWS Elastic File System in Cambridge, moved to Lab126 at the beginning of 2018 to lead Ring core cloud services, video streaming platform, billing and subscription services, eCommerce platform, Ring website, police portal, and Neighbors app, and finally moved to AWS ML to lead Deep Learning frameworks. Before Amazon, I lead the real-time monitoring platform at Akamai Technologies. Prior to Akamai, I lead discrete-event simulation products and architected numerical algorithms and compilers at MathWorks. If you’ve used MATLAB, I wrote core math functions, such as trigonometric, transcendental, and random number generators, as well as the infrastructure for automatically generate functions.
My educational background includes an MBA and two Ph.D. degrees: the first one in algorithmic motion planning in virtual environments and the second one in computer vision for autonomous vehicles. I spent several years of my life doing research on machine learning, robotics, non-linear optimization, and control of autonomous vehicles.
