Ali Assi received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique De Montreal. In January 1998, he joined Texas Instruments in Ottawa, where he worked as ASIC Applications support engineer. In June 1999, Dr. Assi moved to Texas Instruments in Dallas as ASIC design engineer. In September 2000 he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at the American University of Beirut (AUB) as lecturer. In September 2001, Dr. Assi joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) as assistant professor. In September 2004, Dr. Assi joined the American University of Technology (AUT) – Halat Campus as associate professor. Dr. Assi returned back to UAE University in September 2005. He is currently associate professor at the UAEU and his research interests include VLSI/CAD and Mixed-Signal Analog/Digital circuits design, and Photovoltaics/Solar cells. He published more than 70 papers in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Assi is senior member of the IEEE.
