Biography
Adnan Shahid (M’15, SM’17) received the B.Eng. and the M.Eng. degrees in Computer Engineering with from the University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila, Pakistan in 2006 and 2010, respectively, and the Ph.D degree in Information and Communication Engineering from Sejong University, South Korea in 2015. He is currently working as a Senior Researcher in IDLab, a core research group of imec with research activities embedded within Ghent University and the University of Antwerp. He is and has been involved in several ongoing and finished European research projects such as eWINE, WiSHFUL, etc and national projects such as SAMURAI, IDEAL-IOT, Cognitive Wireless Networking Management, etc. He was one of the team members of the SCATTER team in the DARPA Spectrum Collaboration Challenge (SC2), where SCATTER was two times winner of 750,000\$ in phase-1 and phase-2 of the competition and was one of the finalists at the DARPA SC2 championship event organized at Mobile World Congress (October 2019). He is a senior member of IEEE and actively involved in various research activities. He is also serving as an associate editor in various journals including IEEE Access and Journal of Networks and Computer Application (JNCA). He is the author or co-author of more than 45 plus publications in well-known journals and conferences. His research interests include resource management, interference management, self-organizing networks, small cell networks, Internet of things, 5G wireless networks, machine learning, etc.
