Biography
Joaquim Escola graduated in Philosophy at the University of Coimbra, Portugal in 1987. He obtained his Master’s degree in Contemporary Philosophy, University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 1996. His PhD, in Educational Sciences, was obtained from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), Portugal, in 2003. He is presently Assistant Professor in the Education and Psichology Department of UTAD, and director of the Masters in Educational Technology. His research interests include integration of ICT into teaching practices, mobile communication devices, and the use of the Internet. He is a research member at the center I&D - IF University of Oporto (IF) and since 2013 the Research Group of Compared Education and Educational Policies of the University of Salamanca, Spain, as well as the Laboratory of the Group of Studies and Research in Social Representations in and for Teacher Training (LAGERES) of the Federal University of Campina Grande, Brazil, since 2014.
