Biography
Valfredo Pilla Jr received the B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidade de São Paulo (1989) and the M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering (1999) from Universidade Tecnógica do Paraná (UTFPR). Since 1993 he has been with UTFPR at the Department of Electronics, and he had been with Universidade Positivo at the Department of Computer Engineering from February 2001 to January 2015. His current research is on deep learning methods for image pattern recognition and biomedical engineering applications. Previously, he developed activities in reconfigurable hardware, biomedical signals pattern recognition and education in engineering.
