Ali Matar was born in Irbid, Jordan, in 1978. He received the Bachelor degree in Accounting from the Irbid National University, Jordan, in 2000, and the MBA/ Finance from the Yarmouk University Irbid, Jordan, in 2008 and Ph.D. degrees in Finance from UNITEN University, Kualalumpur, Malaysia in 2014. In 2008, he joined the faculty of economic and business at Jadara University, Irbid, Jordan, as a Lecturer, and at the end of 2010 he got a scholarship from that university. In 2014 he joined the department of banking and financial science at Jadara University as an assistant professor and teaching various courses there. In 2015 he became the head of banking & finance department there until October 2018. Since October 2018 he is deputy dean of scientific research and graduate studies.He is now the Dean of Scientific Research at Jadara University since October 2019. Dr. Matar has already published around twenty five papers in national and international journals and conferences. His current research interests include Financial Markets and Institutions, Portfolio managements, Energy Economics & Finance, and Banking. Dr. Matar is a reviewer with different impacted publishers such as Elsevier, Sage, and Taylor & Francis.
