Biography
Dr. Paresh Saxena is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Information Systems, BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad Campus. He received his PhD from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (Spain) with the guidance of Prof. M. A. Vazquez-Castro. After his PhD, he worked as a Senior Research Engineer in AnsuR technologies for 3.5 years in Oslo (Norway) with the guidance of Dr. Harald Skinnemoen. His primary research focus is on design and implementation of network coding protocols for reliable and robust communications. His current research interests are in wireless and satellite networks, drone communications, machine learning and video streaming protocols.
He has been involved as a work package leader in two European Space Agency (ESA) funded projects: SatNetCode and HENCSAT, along with a work package member in European H2020 funded project Geo-Vision. He was a member of European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) action IC1104 from 2013-2016 and worked on the project from Mathematics of Information Technology and Complex System (MITACS), Canada in 2008. He had been a visiting researcher in Simon Fraser University (SFU), Vancouver (Canada) under the guidance of Prof. Abraham Punnen in 2008 and a visiting researcher in Telecom, ParisTech, Paris (France) under the guidance of Prof. J. C. Belfiore in 2010. During his PhD, he was awarded the UAB Doctoral Fellowship Grant (P.I.F) for four years in Barcelona, Spain and prior to his graduation, he was awarded with a National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) scholarship, India where he scored the overall 11th rank in the country in 2002.
