Biography
A.Manuel de Oliveira Duarte is Full Professor at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications, University of Aveiro, Portugal, which he joined in 1978.
In 1988 created the Broadband Systems Group of the University of Aveiro which, over the years, diversified into a series of interrelated research teams, acting in the areas of broadband technologies, optical communications, network engineering, economic and social aspects of telecommunications, etc.
Between 1999 and 2007 was in charge of an educational and vocational training program of the University of Aveiro focused on the areas of industrial design, production technologies and management. Information and communication technologies were widely used in this context as enablers of enterprise modernization and innovative products and services.
Between 2006 and 2011, by invitation of the Portuguese Ministery of Science, Technology and Higher Education, was Coordinator of the Inter-Ministerial Commission for Post-Secondary Education.
