Biography
Dr. Abdelkefi is an Associate Professor in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at New Mexico State University. He received his PhD degree from Virginia Tech in 2012. With his students and collaborators, Dr. Abdelkefi has published one book, one patent with Samsung researchers, 175 journal articles, and 200 conference presentations. Based on Google Scholar, his research was cited more than 6000 times with an h-index of 42. From recent study by Stanford University, he is listed one of the World’s Top 2% Scientist in all fields and over all career with a rank of 101 out of 45,833 authors in the subfield of aerospace and aeronautics. For the year 2019, Dr. Abdelkefi’s rank in the subfield of aerospace and aeronautics is 8 out of 45,833 authors.
Dr. Abdelkefi has graduated 10 PhD and 16 MS students with Thesis. He also was awarded the NMSU Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Academy as the Outstanding Research Professor in 2019 and 2020. Moreover, he was awarded the 2019 URC Early Career Award, and the 2020 Teaching-Research-Service Synergy Award from the NMSU College of Engineering. Recently, he was awarded the NMSU Westhafer Award for Research and Creative Activity.
