Biography
Mbika Muteba holds a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from University of Johannesburg (SA). He also holds a bachelor’s and Master’s (cumlaude) of Technology in Electrical engineering from Tshwane University of Technology (SA). Mbika is a senior lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa (SA). He teaches subjects in the field of electrical machines and drives to undergraduates and graduate students. He also provides supervision to masters and doctoral students who are conducting full research on the design and optimization of electrical machines for various applications.
Dr. Muteba is a member of the institute of electrical and electronic engineers (IEEE), and the Industry Application Society (IAS) and Power Energy Society (PES). He is also a professional engineering technologist registered with the Engineering Counsel of South Africa (ECSA). His research interests are design and Optimization of high-performance electrical machines for electric traction motor options and renewable energy technologies. He is currently reviewing peer review articles for IEEE Open Access, IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, Energy Conversion, Power Electronics, Industrial Electronics, Transportation Electrification and more. He has authored more than forty technical papers in the field of electrical machines, which have been published in journals and peer review conference proceedings.
