Biography
Dr. Zia Ush Shamszaman is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science in the Department of Computing &
Games at the School of Computing, Engineering & Digital Technologies (SCEDT). Prior to starting as an
academic, Dr. Shamszaman has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Dublin City University, University
College Cork and as a Part-time teacher at NUI Galway. He has been awarded a Ph.D. in Computer Science
at NUI Galway and a Master of Engineering in ICE at HUFS. Also, he has worked for the ICT industry in the
capacity of network and security engineer and technical consultant & project manager in different ISP\'s and
in national benchmark projects. His research interest lies in the following areas (but not limited to),
cybersecurity, AI, IoT, CPS, data analytics, and the semantic web. Shamszaman has participated in the
following research projects, FP7\'s Web of Objects, ETRI\'s Smart Energy Management, Cisco\'s IoE, and
KTP-CyberASAP\'s iShield (PI) and authored/co-authored several articles in different Q1 journals and
conference proceedings. He has peer-reviewed over 70 articles for over 25 highly ranked journals and is a
senior member of IEEE, advisory panel member of Elsevier, and a TPC member of the STI conference.
Currently, Zia is accepting Ph.D. proposals from potential students.
