Biography
Dr. Alfandi is currently involving in several first-of-a-kind research projects that supports the current U.S Nuclear Reactor fleet as well as the new Nuclear Reactor Technologies. For example, His current research focuses on developing a novel approach to assess the maturity level of certain computer codes to model and simulate specific nuclear phenomena in the current fleet. Whereas his other research work focusing on enhancing the existing point Point Rreactor kinetics Kinetics (PRK) model in GOTHIC code to consider the motion of delayed Delayed neutron Neutron precursors Precursors (DNP) in Circulating Fuel Reactors (CFR). This will improve GOTHIC’s ability to support modeling and analysis of Circulating Fuel Reactors (CFR) that are being developed under the support of the Department of Energy (DOE). Moreover, Dr. Alfandi is involved in design projects for current nuclear reactors, where he is reviewing the plant model and simulation work for intended increase in the Nuclear Fuel efficiency.
