Ammar Rayes is an Adjunct Professor at SJSU. He is a best-selling author with 4 books,
100+ publications in refereed journals and conferences, and 45+ patents. He is
the founding president of issip.org, Editor-in-Chief of the Advances of Internet of
Things Journal, senior editor of IEEE Journal of Selected Areas in Communications, served as an Associate Editor of ACM Transactions on Internet
Technology and the Journal of Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing.
He also guest-edited 12+ IEEE journals and magazines, appeared as keynote
speaker at several IEEE and industry conferences. Recipient of a dozen Innovation
& Execution Awards. At Cisco, Ammar is the founding chair of the Cisco Services
Patent Committee. He received Cisco Chairman’s Choice Award for IoT Excellent
Innovation & Execution.
He received his BS and MS Degrees in EE from the University of Illinois at Urbana,
a postgraduate degree in AI/ML at the University of Taxes, Auston, and a Ph.D.
degree in EE from Washington University.
