Digital Image Processing Privacy and Trust in Multimedia
Biography
I am currently working as Assistant Professor at University of Kashmir (India). I completed my three year Postdoc in 2024 at Aligarh Muslim University on the topic: Protection of Visual-IoT (VIoT) data against Cyber Attacks and completed my Ph.D. at the University of Kashmir in 2020.
My doctoral and postdoctoral work focused on secure computing, algorithmic design, and machine-learning-driven signal and image processing, with applications in IoT, healthcare, and low-resource environments. This has required not only technical depth, but also the ability to synthesize ideas across disciplines, evaluate emerging trends, and communicate complex concepts with clarity—skills.
Beyond my own research, I have developed a strong editorial and evaluative perspective. I currently serve as a reviewer for Springer Nature journals, including Scientific Reports and Multimedia Tools and Applications, as well as leading IEEE and IET journals. I have also been a Book Editor with Springer Nature for Intelligent Multimedia Signal Processing for Smart Ecosystems, which involved shaping the intellectual scope of the volume, working closely with authors, and ensuring clarity, coherence, and scholarly rigor across chapters. These experiences have reinforced my interest in assigning, developing, and refining authoritative review content, rather than focusing solely on producing primary research.
I have published on topics ranging from machine-learning-based computer vision and NLP for low-resource languages to secure and privacy-preserving computing frameworks, often at the intersection of hardware, algorithms, and real-world deployment. This has trained me to think beyond disciplinary silos and to identify questions that are timely, integrative, and of long-term value to the community.
I particularly enjoy working closely with authors—helping refine article scope, strengthening conceptual framing, improving narrative flow, and ensuring factual precision and accessibility. I am comfortable providing developmental feedback on early synopses, line-by-line editing of manuscripts, and collaborating on figure concepts and explanatory visuals.
I would also greatly value the opportunity to engage with the global computing community through conferences and direct dialogue with researchers.
I am confident that my broad scientific perspective, strong writing and editing skills, organizational discipline, and commitment to scholarly excellence would allow me to make a meaningful contribution.
