Jean Pierre Cances (M’03, SM’07) was born in Brive, France, on April 17, 1966. He received the Eng. degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications de Bretagne (ENSTBr) in 1990 and the Ph.D. degrre from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST-Télécom Paris) in 1993. He also received the teaching degree Agregation in physics in 1993 and the teaching degree CAPES in mathematics in 1994. He is currently a full professor at ENSIL Limoges University where he teaches signal processing. His research activities include channel coding, iterative processing for MIMO and optical communications.
