Georgios Stylianou, PhD. Georgios is an assistant professor at the department of computer science and engineering at the European University Cyprus. He is also a co-founder of VI Scientific Ltd, a small company that develops patented mobile vision aid and context-aware software. He received his Bachelors and PhD degrees in computer science from the University of Cyprus in 1998 and Arizona State University in 2003. He has over 25 refereed publications in prestigious
journals and conferences as well as a patent on mobile vision software. His primary research interests are context-aware mobile computing with focus on the visually impaired people. Other research interests include computer vision, geometric modeling and computer graphics. He has received twice the Start-up Entrepreneur for the Year award and VI Scientific’s software products appeared in a BBC documentary in 2010.
