r Jonathan Rigelsford is a Senior Experimental Officer within the
Communications Research Group, at the University of Sheffield, UK. He
obtained his MEng Electronic Engineering (Environmental) in 1997 and his
PhD in 2001, both from the University of Hull. His doctoral thesis
`Design & analysis of an acoustic random spherical volumetric array´
included the development of an acoustic system suitable for covert
surveillance operations.
Between 2000 and 2002 Jonathan worked at Jaybeam Ltd as Senior Design
Engineer, developing antennas for the telecommunications industry. Since
joining the University of Sheffield he has gained international
recognition for his work in a wide range of communications projects
within academia and industry. This includes being appointed a Director
of the Antenna Interface Standards Group (AISG) and Secretary to the
Wireless Friendly Building Forum (WFBF).
