Professor Bataineh received his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University in 1985 and his Master and Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1990 and 1992 respectively. Professor Bataineh was a Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology and Chairman of the Computer Engineering Department at a Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology and Chairman of the Computer Engineering Department at Jordan University of Science and Technology. He was the Founder and Program Manager for the Foundation Program at Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research (KUSTAR). During this period, Professor Bataineh has made a significant contribution to the computer community and higher education in Jordan. He was appointed by the Minister of Research and Higher Education to head a committee which set accreditation criteria for distance learning programs. He was appointed as a member of National Scientific Research Fund Committee with a 15 million JD (78 million AED) yearly budget. In addition, he was selected as a member of the committee formed by the National Center for Human Resource Development to write a Higher Education Indicators (HEI) report in collaboration with Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA. In addition, he is a very successful, active, and energetic researcher and has gained a reputation as an outstanding teacher. He has published over 50 scientific and technical papers and Book Chapters. Some of Professor Bataineh’ s work has been published in IEEE Transaction on Computers, IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Journal of Parallel and Distributed Systems (JPDC), The Computer Journal, and Journal of Interconnection Networks (JOIN). Professor Bataineh considered as one of the founders of “Divisible Load Theory”. He was invited speaker by many organizations and chairing and co-chairing international conferences.
