Biography Alfred Kik was born in Rayak, Lebanon, on November 30, 1978. He received the Diplome d’Ingenieur degree in electrical engineering from the Lebanese University, Roumieh, Lebanon, in 2001, and a specialized master from the Ecole Nationale Supe ?rieure des Telecommunications, Paris, France, in 2004. From 2005 to 2007, he was with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, MD, USA, as a guest researcher. He was involved in evaluating localization techniques for emergency applications and in UWB indoor channel modelling. Since 2008, he is with the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan, working toward his Dr.Eng. degree. His research interests are VNA calibration algorithms and materials metrology.
