Yahia Tachwali was born in 1980 in Aleppo, Syria. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 2010. He received a Master of Science in Mechatronics in 2005 from the American University of Sharjah. He obtained his B.Sc. degree in Electronics with first rank honor in 2003 from the University of Aleppo.
His research interests are: cognitive radio networks, the design and implementation of DSP algorithms on software radio platforms, spectrum sensing, reconfigurable wireless systems, compressive sensing, distributed sensing, wireless sensor networks, parallel algorithm design on multi-core processing systems.
Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher at the Georgia Institute of Technology, in the Broadband Wireless Networking Lab under the supervision of Pr. Dr. Ian F. Akyildiz. His current research is focused on Cognitive Radio Ad Hoc Networks.
