Abstract Paper deals with network coding, COPE algorithm in particular, with great emphasis on the simulation model, which was developed for performance evaluation of network coding. Analysis of network coding is difficult to perform in real environment due to its complexity and high dependency to other network and traffic parameters. Thus, simulation environments, such as the one described in this paper, present an appealing option for performance evaluation and in depth analysis of network coding, in order to be able to extend current ideas for the development of usable and highly effective protocols.
