NEXUS//1.5_Transformational Partnerships

Summary

The NEXUS//1.5 collaboration strategy is committed to progressing Curtin’s School of Design and the Built Environment (DBE) delivery of excellence in teaching scholarship and innovative research through impactful industry joint-venture partnerships. The project-based engagement framework will support real-world industry applied-delivery and outcome-driven approach and spans the domains of – teaching, traditional and non-traditional research, that support industry-facing engagements. Transcending traditional discipline scholarship through partnerships increases the opportunities for sustaining long-term co-invested and build and strengthen the school’s well-established inter-disciplinary commitment to the creation of a transferable NEXUS between knowledge and practice across teaching and research.

This presentation will discuss the outcomes of the recently successful completion of the Treasuring Rottnest NEXUS//1.5 industry and academy real-world design research project. This highly visual presentation will offer a demonstrative modelling academy-industry research partnerships and research through visualisation mapping (Vis-MAP). The Vis-MAPs are of the joint-venture partnerships through academic and industry interactions have modelled the research-teaching nexus.
