Jordan
Coming to Jordan represents a unique opportunity to witness the embrace of history and future. As small in area as it is, Jordan has a rich history spanning thousands of years, a history that a tourist can only admire. Places like Petra and the Dead Sea are only examples of the many one-of-a-kind places to visit in Jordan. On top of all that, Jordan, as a peaceful country in a turbulent area, enjoys extreme levels of safety and security. Jordanian people are internationally known for generosity, hospitality and cultural awareness and tolerance.

Introduction to Electrochemical Energy Storage Devices and Applications
Summary
Rapid depletion of fossil fuels and undesirable consequences of air pollution and global warming are severe environmental concerns. These issues have catalyzed the research and development of alternative energy resources as well as energy storage devices. Rechargeable batteries and supercapacitors are extensively used as energy storage devices. Rechargeable batteries are able to deliver high energy density but suffer from power density. Therefore, rechargeable batteries are a good candidate for high energy density applications. On the other hand, supercapacitors can deliver high power density but cannot furnish high energy density. The lower energy density of supercapacitors hinders their application high energy density applications. In order to harvest the features of both devices in a single device is possible by combining battery and capacitors electrodes in a single device named Supercapattery. In this talk, I will briefly introduce electrochemical energy storage systems and current challenges in meeting the energy demands. The possibilities to improve the performance of the current energy storage technology will be explained in detail.
