Biography |
Osama Abudayyeh, Ph.D., P.E. is a Professor and Chair of Civil and Construction Engineering Department at Western Michigan University (WMU). Dr. Abudayyeh earned degrees in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University (Ph.D.) and the University of California at Berkeley (M.Eng.). Dr. Abudayyeh is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of Michigan, California, and North Carolina. Prior to joining WMU, He was an assistant professor of Civil Engineering and Construction at North Dakota State University (NDSU) and a Bridge Engineer in the Office of Structures at the California Department of Transportation. Dr. Abudayyehâs areas of research expertise and interests lie in Infrastructure Management and Health Monitoring, non-destructive testing and evaluation, asset management, smart buildings, modeling and analysis of engineering data, project management concepts and systems, and safety management. He has been involved in numerous funded projects through grants and contracts exceeding $12 million from various federal, state, and private sources such as the US Department of Transportation, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), National Science Foundation (NSD), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), University, local Michigan government, and private companies. He authored or co-authored more than 170 articles and technical reports published in nationally and internationally recognized journals and conference proceedings. |
