Biography
Dr. Manuel Alcazar-Ortega obtained his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain) and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida (USA). He has been a professor at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (Spain) and the State University of New York at Buffalo (United States). Moreover, he has worked as an electrical engineer at the company RWE Deutschland AG (Germany). Currently, he is a professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Valencia. In this institution, he has been part of the Institute for Energy Engineering since 2004, where he works in different lines of research related to the study of smart grids and microgrids, the characterization of the demand patterns of energy consumers and the active participation of demand in electricity markets. In this area, he is author of more than 20 publications in international JCR indexed journals, conference proceedings and other scientific media.
