Heat Transfer Enhancement Heat Transfer in Microchannels
Biography
Dr. Alkhalidi is an associate professor in the Energy Engineering Department at German Jordanian University (GJU) since January 2014. Previously, Dr. Alkhalidi completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Energy from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee (UWM). Dr. Alkhalidi won several Awards, Gold Graduate Award from UWM, Best Innovation in renewable energy and Best Paper Award.
During his Ph.D. research, Dr. Alkhalidi investigated energy savings in wastewater aeration tanks by improving efficacy in air diffusers manufactured by ITT Sanitaire. The results of this project were patented by UWM and ITT. Dr. Alkhalidi has worked on several projects, including the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Policy for the Jordanian Water Sector, funded by GIZ. Through this project, Dr. Alkhalidi developed general policies to improve energy efficacy in pump stations and introduced renewable energy to the Jordanian water sector. GIZ funded a second project for Dr. Alkhalidi, which focused on the Elaboration of Database for the Jordanian Water Sector. This project established a database for comprehensive and systematic energy management in the water sector. In the field of Photovoltaics, Dr. Alkhalidi prepared and evaluated tender for 1.7 MWp Photovoltaic power generation project for German Jordanian University. In addition, Dr. Alkhalidi has pursued many other projects in the field of hydroponics and energy and energy efficiency for building and industries.
Dr. Alkhalidi have published more than 28 journal paper and 27 Conference Paper. Paper topics distributed between microfluidic, Heat Transfer, Building envelop and hydroponics.
