Abstract
In this paper, a simple configuration for a dual-band unequal split Wilkinson power divider (WPD) is presented. Two sections of transmission line transformers are used in place of the quarter-wave sections in the conventional single-band WPD. Two isolation resistors are also used to achieve good isolation between the output ports. Closed form design equations are derived based on simple transmission line theory. For verification purposes, a design is carried out and simulated for a 1:2 WPD, operating at 1 GHz and 2 GHz. Another design is presented for a 1:√ 2 WPD operating at GSM frequencies: 0.9 GHz and 1.8 GHz.
