Biography Susana Cardoso de Freitas (1973) received the M.S. (1996) and PhD (2002) degrees in technological physics engineering from the Instituto Superior Tecnico, Universidade de Lisboa. In 2002 she was at IBM (USA) and a researcher at INESC-MN. Presently she is the co-leader of the Magnetics & Spintronics group and an Associated Professor at the Physics Department (IST). She is co-author of over 260 publications, is responsible for advanced training, and has active international cooperation within projects and industrial contracts on advanced thin films, microfabrication processes and sensors.
