Abstract
In this paper, we present a new delay estimation and tracking filter for asynchronous CDMA systems in a multiuser environment. The algorithm is based on utilizing the filter output error in the gain update equation. The filter is less complex and converges more quickly compared to the unscented filter (UF) and does not require linearization in the measurement equations as in the extended Kalman filter (EKF). Computer simulations are presented to illustrate the new filter’s performance.
