Title New helper node selection scheme for cooperative communications at ad hoc networks
Authors Prof. Jaeshin Jang, Inje University, ,
Abstract In this paper, a new MAC protocol for cooperative communication called busy tone cooperative medium access control (BT-COMAC) protocol was proposed to overcome the drawbacks and maximize the advantages of existing schemes. A performance evaluation was conducted on the BT-COMAC protocol using computer simulation. We used a method of selecting a transmission rate based on received power in a slow fading channel environment. The performance evaluation results showed that the scheme proposed in this paper improved as much as 100% in terms of system throughput when compared to that of existing schemes.
