One of the main problems in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is the large dynamic range of the signal that is referred to as Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR). When OFDM signal transmitted through a nonlinear device, such as High-Power Amplifier (HPA), Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) and Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC), the high PAPR generates out-of-band energy and in-band distortion. There are many different techniques for PAPR reduction, one of them is Zadoff-Chu matrix Transform (ZCT). In this paper, ZCT-precoding and ZCT-postcoding techniques for PAPR reduction of OFDM signals are analyzed and compared with precoding Walsh-Hadamard OFDM (WHT-OFDM( and conventional OFDM. The obtained results for M-QAM modulated streams (with M=4, 16, 64, 256) show the improvement on PAPR reduction.
