Title Handoff Failure Avoidance Method Based on Location and Trajectory of the Mobile Node
Authors Mrs. Thazin Ei, Huazhong University of Science &Technology, Wuhan, China

Abstract Handoff management is the main challenge to provide ubiquitous communications to the mobile users in next-generation wireless systems (NGWS). If the handoff takes place later than the time when it should start, causing data loss, interruption in the process or applications and other undesirable results are dominant. Therefore, handoff should be started exactly at a specific time in order to avoid handoff failure and to achieve seamless handoff in (NGWS). We propose the handoff method that initiates handoff when it should necessarily take place. This method is developed using location information, velocity information and signaling delay. Since, in our method, handoff takes place at the most appropriate time, it will absolutely avoid handoff failure and other undesirable results. The theoretical analysis and simulation results show that our method significantly enhances the performance of handoffs in (NGWS).
