Abstract The carrier frequency offset and phase noise cause loss of orthogonality among subcarriers in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) resulting to intercarrier interference (ICI). In this paper, we have developed analytical model to suppress ICI in multiple input and multiple output (MIMO) OFDM system with the concept of self cancellation data conjugate (SCDC) scheme. Firstly an effort has been made to illustrate the mathematical derivation for common phase error (CPE), ICI, carrier to interference and bit error rate (BER) of the system. It is found that SCDC method suppresses ICI significantly and as a result BER performance becomes better than conventional ICI self cancellation in MIMO-OFDM system.
