Abstract |
In the last 10 years wireless networks have become very popular and many protocols have been developed based on the original 802.11 like 802.11a released in 1999, 802.11b released in 1999 also, 802.11g released in 2003 and 802.11n which has not been approved yet. The proliferation mainly of this kind of wireless networks has led also to a new type of networking named mobile ad-hoc networking (MANet) which are selfconfigured networks of mobile routers (and associated hosts) connected by wireless links – the union of which form an arbitrary topology. In this paper we study the most common ad-hoc routing protocols and in particular the effects of mobility on their performance. In particular we focus on AODV, DSR and DSDV routing protocols which are the most commonly used in MANets. |
