This paper investigates a design of a very low passband ripple in linear phase FIR filters for channelizer in a multi-standard software defined radio. A new technique that is able to reduce the ripple in passband by minimizing the deviation in a decimation block was introduced. The approach has been implemented in a multistage, multi-standard decimating filter. The overall design uses components from different communication standards and able to support a dynamic reconfiguration.
