The Amplify-and-Forward (AAF) relay strategy where a source node transmits the information to a destination node through multiple relays and direct link is considered in this paper due to its performance and simplicity. In all-participate (AP), we need N+1 channels (one for the direct link and N for the relays links) to complete the transmission from the source to the destination. AAF technique simply amplifies the signal received by the relay before forwarding it to the destination. We propose a single relay selection strategy for two-hop relay networks based on outage probability criterion and the relay with the lowest probability of outage is selected for further cooperation for AAF scheme. In this paper, the method to select the best relay is suggested, where the destination node decides to cooperate with the relay node according to it is own the lowest outage probability for each link between destination-relay nodes. In particular, outage probability close- form expression for the total SNR is derived for selection AAF (SAAF). The presented results show that this method outperforms AP-AAF method, and can keep a full diversity order.
